I just bought a new PC installed with Vista! I DO NOT like Vista! If I buy XP and install it will it mess up my computer? In other words... if my computer came installed with Vista will XP crash it?! Thanks in advance!

Possibly. If your hardware is new then there's a chance that it won't have XP drivers. That's what happened with my computer - I tried to install XP and it insisted I didn't have a hard drive because it didn't have a driver for my hard drive controller. Vista recognized it and installed just fine. Since you'll have to reformat your drive, make sure you have XP drivers for all hardware, otherwise you may be stuck with a PC with no operating system.

Installing XP on your Vista machine will do no damage. You will lose everything you've saved on your computer until this point in time. I recommend you move everything you want to save to a CD or flash drive and then install XP (using the installation disk, of course). then feel free to move your files onto your computer, now with XP, from your CD/Flash drive.

The only way to do it safely and without any problems is to do what a couple of other people tell you to do. That is, copy all of your files on a CD or other storage media, format you hard drive, install windows XP, reinstall all your programs and then install your files.

No, it will remove all the evil that is Vista.
It won't mess up your computer. If anything messed up, it will just be the installation of the operating system. That is easily fixed by reinstalling the operating system using the CD. It really isn't a big problem so don't worry.
