My guy is deployed and he's asked me if I'd like to go with him to visit his mom in another state when he comes back. Now, maybe I'm looking too much into this, but I'm thinking this could be a big step and I'm finally getting somewhere with him... am I wrong and he just wants a travel buddy? When a guy asks a girl to meet the parents, what does that mean?

If you're with your guy while he's abroad like that, you're probably pretty important to him. I'm sure he's mentioned you to his mom and wants you to meet. I wouldn't read TOO far into it, but you are important in his life, not just a travel buddy.

Well usually it would be a big step. Also he could've asked you to go so he could spend time with you and his family. You can ask him if it's important to him. If your dating I don't think he just wants a travel buddy. I would take that as a big deal but some might not. You have to ask him to really know what he's thinking about it.

depends on the guy. Maybe he just misses you and wants to see you as soon as he can but has to see the folks first. Some guys are real family shy and some arnt. so you have to judge him to know if its a big step.

It's a BIIIIGGGG step. Really big. Yes. He might not be planning on getting you a ring anytime soon but he might if he's taking you home to mom. R U ready for that with him?

I take it as a big step.

I met my boyfriend's mom (and sister and step-dad) today, and he met a grand majority of my immediate family members yesterday.

It's not a "we're getting married" step for us, but more of a "we're kinda more serious now, because now our families are getting attached to our significant others"

Most likely it means his mom has asked him numerous times about you and has become pushy about getting to meet you. Guys rarely introduce girls to their parents unless someone pushes them to.

I have always thought it meant something, but it might not to him. When you bring a guy to meet your parents, does it mean something?
