That much vodka will make anyone throw up. If he's alert and oriented, isn't breathing shallow and isn't vomitting while he's passed out, then he's probably taking the natural course of getting drunk. If he's taking any type of medications, or if he's lethargic, breathing funny, passes out and keeps on throwing up, well then you definitely have a problem! You can't do anything to help him unless you call an adult for help (if he's underage) or call 911 to seek medical attention. I can't make the call for you hear, but if you do not get help from an adult or 911, then you need to make sure he drinks plenty of water. Alcohol poinsoning is caused by having too much in the blood, you need to get water into his blood so it will dilute the alcohol...if he goes to the emergency room, they will probably hook him up to an IV and give him fluids that way...which might just be a good idea because he's not going to get much water into his blood if he's throwing it up as quick as he drinks it. And by the way, the simple fact that you're asking the question is probably enough to tell you that your gut feeling is telling you there IS a problem that warrants immediate attention.

When you look up alcohol poisoning in the internet, this what you get:

Signs and symptoms of alcohol poisoning include:

Confusion, stupor
Vomiting
Seizures
Slow or irregular breathing
Blue-tinged skin or pale skin
Low body temperature (hypothermia)
Unconsciousness ("passing out")
It's not necessary for all of these symptoms to be present before seeking help. A person who has become unconscious, or cannot be roused, is at risk of dying.

Just because he's throwing up doesn't mean he really has alcohol poisoning. 10 shots is quite a bit of alcohol, especially in a short time. But if he's conscious, but throwing up a lot, he may just be drunk and on his way to a nice little hangover.
New Years eve two years ago, I drank half a bottle of Southern Comfort in a matter of about 20 minutes. A 45 minute drive later, I spent the rest of the night puking in the bathroom every two minutes. I learned my lesson that night. I'm sure your boyfriend learned his. He'll be miserable for a few hours. Once it's all puked out of his system, he'll sleep like a baby and wake up with a hangover. Have some cold water and aspirin waiting for him...he'll need it.

I would try to give him some Orange juice or Gatorade / Powerade (either of these will help replace the nutrients he's just thrown up), at the ER they'll just give him an IV which is basically sugar/salt water anyways, and try to make him go to sleep. If he's thrown up that much he's probably already gotten all the vodka out of his stomach by now. Just keep a close eye on him, make him sleep on his side or stomach so if he starts vomiting in his sleep ... Good luck.

Is he pale, you don't really need an ambulance until your sure. it's very common to throw up for two hours on alcohol, not very common to be poisoned from ten shots. Although it may be a lot for a smaller or inexperienced "lightweight" It's really not enough to be poisoned. Make sure he drinks ALOT of water, bread helps as to soak it up and puke it out. Because he may be vomiting nothing by now that would be a lot of help. Home remedy pump.

It's probably good that he's throwing up, because he's getting some of the alcohol out of his system. But why are you asking Yahoo Answers? Call 911, especially if he passes out. Then get another bf. You don't want to be in the position of "helping" him.

If he's puking up blood it's alcohol poisoning but 10 shots of Vodka isn't that much depending on his weight, height and how fast he drank them.

he'll be OK once he gets it out of his system. Leave him alone and let him learn the lesson of a truly wretched hangover than maybe he won't be such an idiot. what the hell is wrong with him? are you dating a drunk?
Anyway, you can't die from it usually, your body just expels it. make sure he doesn't pass out so he can't choke on his vomit., keep him awake untl he stops puking. the let him sleep.
He'll be back to normal in about 24-36 hours.

Sleep he needs to rest until sober and plenty of cold water when his guts better. Everyone poisons themselves when they drink, he had too much too fast, and it was straight. He could have allergies.
