yes you can be inlove with your ex you have a special bond that will never go away
but the reason you refrain from each other is because of the relationship that you two had and the reason you dont reconnect is
the feeling is mutal you rather be just friends because the relationship did not work the first time.

ex's are usualy ex's for a reason. evaluate why you broke up in the 1st place and go from there. if it was silly and stupid no reason not to but dont expect them to be a different person than they were before and for it to be perfect. usualy if it broke once it will again
