Ulna is longer of the two. It has a hook like olecranon process for jointing with humerus. One end of radius called the head is almost flat on top.Pronation (for donation) moves radius not ulna.

If you are talking just simply then the radius is the long bone that is on the same side of your arm as your thumb. However you seem to be asking in a bit more detail. Which is fine for me cause i've just been revising my anatomy. The simplest way to tell them apart is to look at the ends. The unla is the bone that has the olecranon process and so it has a hook shape or c shape from the side. Also the ulna is longer than the radius (but of course that only helps if you have both in front of you) if not go for the hook idea instead.

If you are looking for more detailed comparisons e.g. processes and tuberosities, just let me know and i'll post some extra stuff for you :o)

The radius is small at the elbow and big at the wrist, the ulna just the opposite, for starters.

The radius is the bone on top... so that the radius goes around the ulna when you rotate your wrist. I learned that back in the 6th grade and it stuck in my head.

Here is a picture:

The ulna is on the pinky side of the arm and is big at the elbow.
The radius is on the thumb side of the arm and is larger at the wrist. (Radius and wRist both have the R sound at the beginning, if that helps you remember)

Hope that helps.
