Hello!!!
The gap between your two front teeth is called a Diastima.
I'm a dental assistant, just so you know the answer is right.
Depending on your dentition, whether all your teeth are permanent teeth or not, has alot to do w/ your next question.
If the space is widening more and more, I would expect that you have alot of extra space
or spaces b/t your teeth. This (spaces) allows
teeth to move gradually over time.
Having not seen you in person, makes an accurate diagnosis, honestly impossible.
If it were me, I would get a dentist's opinion on
your concerns.
Hope this helps a little.

I had a gap between my two front teeth. I was self conscious and hated it. My dentist thought that if he laser burned off the piece of skin on the gums that is attached to the skin just above your lip on the inside of the mouth, that it would correct the problem. It did not, and was quite painful.
The reason for the gap in my front teeth is because the teeth beside it are too small, so it wouldn't have been aesthically pleasing to fill in the space. (However, if you can do this, I highly recommend it)
Instead, I went to an orthodonist. He convinced me that I needed both sets of braces on the top and bottom to make my teeth even. It cost around $2000 dollars, and took about 5 years. My top teeth were perfect in three years, but the bottom teeth were not. Finally, I got the braces off, but my bite is still a little too deep, so I can't have a permanent retainer placed on the back of my front teeth to keep them together. Teeth will drift back even after braces, and get considerably worse as we get older.
It just depends on how much you want to pay and what you are willing to go through. It gave me my confidence, but I definitely didn't go the easy way. Good luck!

that is many causes to that situation. You need a dentist to diagnosis it. Most probably you need a braces to close the gap and retainer after the braces remove.

I dont know what would be causing this... But yes.. you probably would have to get braces!
But to me I think braces are cool. and they look good on alot of ppl.
Good luck!

If it is not too large of a diastema (gap) it can be closed with composite ( tooth- colored filling). Orthodontics is not always necessary.

I suggest you go see a dentist and explain your situation. They can give you a better solution than we can.

If it really bothers you, ask your denist for a referral to a good orthodontist.
