Does anyone know how far a full powered english lowbow (+-180 pounds pull strength) would penetrate into a tree trunk.

That would depend on 4 factors.
1- type of tree shot, hard wood or soft wood.
2- type of point used, as in broad head or target point.
3- distance from shooter to target, 10 yards or 100 yards.
4- that you are able to pull a 180 pound draw bow, I’ve shot a 120 pound and wonted no larger.

I would say, a good estimation using a broad head on a soft wood tree at 40 to 50 yards 2 ½ to 3 inches maximum.
Target point at same range and same type of tree about 1 to 1 ½ inches maximum.

That my estimation
