without knowing you or what you like it's difficult to answer this. First of all, where are you thinking of putting it and how big do you want it to be. Second of all, what sorts of things do you like?
I've been considering a tattoo, but it's got to be something I know I'll like 10-20 years from now. So never put someone's name or something symbolizing someone you might not like in a decade or two ;) I want a gothic fairy, butterfly or dragonfly on my lower back- but that's just what I like.
I think what's really neat is to draw something yourself or have someone you know (and preferrably like) draw it for you. Then it's personal and you can make it whatever you want.
You can also search the web for tattoo images or go to various parlors to see different designs and get an idea of something that really jumps out at you. Afterall none of us have to wear it for the rest of our lives... you do. ;)
Good luck!

I'd look at tat collections like the one below. Best not to be suggested ideas by strangers online; rather, check out how the tats look on actual people from a large collection well indexed.
Then come back & we'll discuss specifics. Once you get more than one, the option of making the tats related to each other in some way becomes a nice artistic option - reflection in the water of the dolphin & the moon, for example.

i have a hibiscus flower on my right hip bone. It is bright colors (blues, pinks, yellows, etc.) it is beautiful and not too big. The colors have yet to go away and i've had it for a few years so dont fear bright colors too much!
If you like flowers and tropical flowers for that matter then you'd love it im sure!!
good luck deciding!

It all depends on where you want it and how feminine you want it to be.
I have some amazing ideas, but I'd need details.
