You do not have to be old to get shingles. Where did you get the idea that you have to be old to get shingles? No clue what your pain is or what is causing it though.

Like the first poster said, one doesn't have to be old to get shingles. I had chickenpox when I was 16 years old and when I had some issues with the nerve to my left breast at age 26 the dr I had as my gyn at the time thought that maybe my problem was indeed Shingles because of the fact that I had chickenpox at 16.

I don't know how old you are but if you have never had chickenpox pls be careful because for an adult who has never had it gets it it can cause a lot of problems unless you got the vaccine designed to prevent chickenpox when you were a kid.

When I got the chickenpox at 16 the vaccine was just starting to come out.

It is possible that you could have a pinched nerve or something like that but I would recommend seeing your dr to have this evaluated.

You probably have a disc in the spine pressing on a nerve, please go see about it, because it continues to get worse. I had the same thing, and now it is real bad.. Good Luck!!
