about 5 months ago my girlfriend started working in the same place I work at. she is actually on a temporary visa from her country. she leaves in 5 months, and I don't know if I should open my heart for her. we hooked up about 1 and a half months ago. we just started dating, but I don't know if I should let myself fall in love with her and then lose her in 5 months. what do u think?

Wow, that is a tough one. Kinda like that old saying, "It's better to have loved and lost then to never have loved at all."
It all depends on you and how you feel about the quote that I just wrote. Do you agree with it? Personally, I don't. If I lost my husband now I don't know what I would do. I would have rather never loved him then to love him and lose him. Does that make sense?
Anyways, it is all up to you. Do you think that you can fall for this girl and just let her go? Or would it be easier to just be friends? I can't tell you what to do because you and I are two totally different people and therefore have two totally different hearts. But I do wish you the best of luck in making this decision.

So she leaves in five months...what are you gonna do? Blow a chance for love and great memories because she's leaving?

Life is full of decisions just like this one. Go for it. Enjoy the time you have together...make as many memories as you can because when she's gone, they'll sustain you. Be brave enough now to love her and be loved and risk the pain of separation later.

Besides, when she leaves, it won't necessarily mean the relationship is over. There's e-mail, phone calls and you can always fly coach.

Go for it.

they say to follow your heart and your heart would not lead you a stray ...however in this case, be careful on your decision, because your heart could end up being broken, do to the long distance that is coming. Even though you like this girl, my opinion is to stay as close friends and see where that leads. I believe you will be looking at a broken heart if you so choose to carry on this relationship. However, dont lead her on, if you choose to just be friends, do tell her and explain to her the reason why you choose to be friends.

Follow your heart, if your heart tells you to do it.. then do it. My sis in law fell in love with a guy from Chilli, and she is from Australia! Now they are married! Things might work out... take a chance

I know it's old and corny, but it just might be worth thinking about -
"It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all"

Go to it, man.

Write her a letter, go visit her in her country,
if you really like that girl, then eloped, maybe
she can stay awhile in this country.
