That's flippin nuts because what would happen god forbid if the gun accidentally went off? I wouldnt feel comfortable with that.

well, he probably suffers from paranoia. And there is nothing wrong sleeping with a gun. Now if he has a round chambered even with the safety on, it is not a smart idea, but a gun on safe, and no round in the chamber is perfectly safe to sleep with. Other reasons for this may be an inherited effect of some sort of tragic event that took place. I sleep with a gun right next to me, this is due to my tours into Iraq and such places where you don't go anywhere with out your weapon.
