I got my cartilage piercing almost a year ago now. when i first got it i kept it very clean, constantly washing it with (unscented) bacterial soap, and i saw no problems. after about a few months i had noticed a bump on the back part of my ear and i was told by the piercer to just flip the earring up at night and keep cleaning it and it will go away. after a week or so it indeed did but then i got a bump on the front, i did the same thing it went away. this went on for a while coming and going and i thought nothing of it really. then it stopped happening, no bumps on either side until recently. i now have a more enlarged bump that looks like its filled with blood thats about half the size of a small gumball. its just significantly larger than the other bumps and sore. If any one could help with a solution to make it go away or what exactly is wrong with it please let me know. i had planned to go to the doctor but i called the place that i received it and was told to do same as before.

i got mine done about 10 months ago! and the same EXACT thing happend to me. its a blood blister, you have to pop it, its really gonna hurt [i had to do this like a week ago]. get someone to pop it and then clean it really good with alcohol. after you pop it, leave your earing out for about two nights. it wont close*- and before you put it back in, clean your ear again relaly good with alcohol and then watch your ear for a couple days and you should be good.
good luck!

What I did was, that I just kept cleaning it, and it kept coming back! So I went to the doctor and they told me the same thing and I asked what kind of soap is the best. They told me that soaps vary for different people. And to try different soaps to see which one works the best.

I had the same thing happen, I took out the pierrcing and opened up the bump and cleaned it out. I left it out after that and it closed. I decided it is better not to chance it. I have seen other people with the same problem that didn't take it out and then developed large growths. It is up to you if you want to continue messing with it. But my advice would be to take it out clean it, and let it heal.

Your piercing sounds first-class. However if you happen to think adore it's angry/extra cranky than typical, then do a sea salt soak. I are not able to deliver you particular numbers off the highest of my head, however well-nigh dissolve sea salt (NON IODIZED, that is very primary!!) with hot water till it is approximately as salty as your tears. Then dip your ear in for five-10 mins. I promise you'll be able to think greater after two-three cures.

if the earring is a circular ring, like a captive bead or a circular barbell leave it in, wash three times daily with bicatracin and smear anti biotic ointment on the ring and rotate in the hole so the stuff gets to the inside, don't use alcohol and hydrogen peroxide, it drys it out
