Having spent a good few years in the dog house, may I suggest that you include a small area where he can spend time with his canine friends who do not accuse him of every sin under the sun just because he forgot Mrs. Rover's Grandmother's birthday. A bar would be nice too.

Water is a good touch, I believe it has to be flowing, so if you can spring for it a fountain in the north east corner would be perfect.
Does he like pastels?
Then go only for soft printed fabrics at his windows!
The driveway to it should not be straight; more of a nice gentle curve, oh and don't plant anything prickly near his front porch either! We don't want his visitors to be grouchy.
Non-viscious succulents are okay!
