Judges are usualy ex-lawyers.
Soooooo
Graduate High School. Get a four year college degree. Take the LSAT. Get into law school. Go through four years of law school. Become a lawyer. Work for a few years. Run for office (unless federal, then you're appointed, but you need a lot of Judge experience) and get elected.
As usual, things can vary.

Our judges in Michigan are lawyers first then run for election for the judge positions, pay varies from jurisdiction to jurisdiction.

Many are elected, so they have to run for office and get enough votes.
Others are appointed.
