So I overthink things waaaaay to much. I sit down and spave out and think about everything. What Ill be doing the next day, what Ill be doing three weeks from now, what Ill watch on tv the next day, who I'm going to talk with tomorrow. I mean I sometimes even go over possible conversations in my head with people I'm going to talk with?! Its never really bothered me all that much actually, but lately it has. See this girl I like I asked out and she kinda shut me down. I was told by everyone who knows me that I just overthink things waaay to much, and I just need to start going with the flow. I just wish I could... I just cant help... thinking lol about everything. Once I thought sooo much I felt my head would explode, so in about 15 minutes I sat down and typed out 2 pages in 12 point font just about me, things going on around me. What I plan on doing everything! I want to stop it. I don't want to be the guy whos 25 and never has had a girlfriend because he overthinks things too much.

Dude, I konw how you feel. And while everyone's answers are quite good, I'll give you my stitch.

There are several possibilities.

1.) You may have ADD. Having random thoughts, or tons of thoughts at the same time in adults is a big sign of ADD.

Now mind you I'm no psycologist, but if I were you, I'd go see one.

2.) As someone else has said, you may have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. And while this disorder can be very life debilitating, it can also be a blessing.

In your case, it realy hasnt hurt you has it? Are you doing well financialy? Are you living well with family and friends?

If it has hurt the quality of your life, then maybe there is something to this.

3.) You may very well be one of those people who are just overly analytical.

You like to not have things go too far out of controll. You like to just make sure you're covered front ot back.

You like to know what's possible.

With all three of these, there is no way of self-diagnosis. The best thing to do would be seek professional help.

Find a good recomended psycologist. One that specializes in these types of disorders. It could help you to understand what's going on with you.

And it may set your mind at ease. At least then you'll know what you need to do next right?

Nothing is better than consulting a psycologist for such problems. They would know how to find out what's up with you better than anyone on this website unless a psycological professor were ot pop in here.

Hope this message finds you well.

no disorder. I had the same problem and still do. My wife allowed me to answer, so the icon is female with a males mind. Your 25 relax I was 34 when I met my wife. Your thinking and ways of doing things is not going to change much. unless you take advice from people who are narrow minded. Your normal and you will see the wisdom of your life at the right time. Try to enjoy and don't let to much B.S. enter your thinking

Look up OCD and see if anything else fits you. Next step, talk to a psychologist. He/She may be able to give you strategies to prevent what ever problems you have with over thinking things. Next, take a deep breath, sounds like you need a good ol' belly breath. Good luck sorting things out....

If you're that concerned, go see a doctor. Sounds like maybe, possibly a manic cycle, or a type of ADD, or maybe you just have a sky high IQ and need to focus on some spectacular education like rocket science or something!
Or maybe you just need to quit the meth...! (kidding, haha!)

There's nothing wrong with you. You just aren't normal. You are probably a first born and they are never normal. But, all that thinking you do, where does it get you? Does it end in goals met? Or are you just balls out obsessed with yourself? This is one for the experts... SUNSHINE... !
