I use a split ender. I have used it 4 around 5yrs now. You use it yourself and comb hair thru it and it cuts off your dead ends. People have told me that it doesn't work and it may not work for everyone. It works for me. I professionally get my hair cut every 9-12 months and the stylist always comments on the fact that I have very few split ends. My hair is long about half way down my back. I color it, straighten it and blow dry it so it gets a lot of damage. I use the split ender every 2 weeks.

id say your too young but really your not its easy, separate your hair into 3 or 4 parts then braid each one to the end the little pieces that stick out of the braid are the split ends cut them you cant even tell you've cut your hair its not a real cut and theres no way to ruin your hair this way. but really you can get a trim for like 15$ at a chop shop

Sure you can do it:) Obtain a pair of hair shears. Normal scissors will gnaw through your hair and cause more split ends. You can purchase hair shears online. I got one Saki Katana professional scissors online. Are great!

Trichoptilosis is the "splitting of hairs at the ends," according to Dorland's Pocket Medical Dictionary, 21st edition, 1968. Often referred to as "split ends." Comes from the Greek root "tricho" meaning hair and "ptilosis" meaning "falling out of the eyelashes." Also called "schizotrichia."
Trichoptilosis is caused by hair damage that happens with excessive backbrushing or colouring and perming. The only way to repair split ends would be to trim your hair.

Why don't you go get it down? It's probably easier, and they can do a good job too....if you cut ir yourself then youre going to end up ruining your hair. trust me, i have done that. Im 13 too....and i made the mistake of cutting my own hair.

dont do it yourself, trust me, no body really likes it when they do it, and if you mess up then itl be really short to fix it... just go to a hair stylist and ask for a small trim, tell them exactly what you want and how much to cut... its better that way
