Hi Random,

There are no viruses, spyware, or worms for the Macintosh, so you really don't need to be concerned with any that. At least this year. You really don't need McAfee programs.

Safari doesn't work like Windows Internet Explorer, which is much more integrated with the Windows OS. You don't get stuff automatically installed onto your computer unless you first type in your administrative password, like you do when you install programs on your Macintosh.

Get into Safari's Preferences settings by the "Safari > Preferences..." menu command:

Under the General tab, make sure that you "uncheck" the box next to the "Open 'safe' files after downloading"

Under the Security tab, check the box next to "Ask before sending a non-secure form to a non-secure form to a secure website."

This should be enough to secure your Mac from any possible problems through Safari. Be comfortable knowing that you have one of the most secure computers in the world. Take care.
