If he thinks he's the better fighter than prove it. If it's televised; public opinion would demand he got a rematch if there was any "homecooking" and Jermaine Taylor has always been a class act fighting the people who are most avoided like Winky Wright and he gave Bernard Hopkins a rematch as well. I am looking forward to him fighting Miranda or Pavlic as well. I don't think Mora would beat either of the three. The names he has fought are not very impressive -- if not from the popularity of "The Contender" show he wouldn't be getting consideration for a title shot period.

exactly. obviously, he doesnt want to put a blemish on his record...so why not avoid tough fights?

i watched 'the contender' religiously that 1st season...and if i remember correctly, mora was said to have read the art of war 2x and wanted to use boxing as a stepping stone to bigger and better things...like be an intellectual or something like that.

but it looks like he's gun-shy about stepping up in competition and putting that unbeaten record on the line and would rather just keep fighting tomato cans.

hell...at least manfredo will fight.

What's up champ? Look, that Sergio whateverwhatever is a "name". It'll draw money as an easy fight for Taylor, earning him a fairly mainstream audience also. Those Contender fights are so cheesy it's retarded. Slow it down like Matrix and add a cannon sound, lol. But people buy that stuff. So, for Taylor, yes, like you say, he has taken on the best. Even if people do not agree with the decisions he has gotten in the past you still need to give him credit for being good enough to make it confusing. He deserves an easy match. And Segio Soandso WOULD lose against top competition. So why lose against THEM when he can lose for a big pay day? Some fights are fights, others are just to make money. This falls into the latter of those. I say "Go for it"... but I can't say I'd watch it. Catch ya later.

There's only one clear answer to this question and it's cause Mora wants to keep his nice clean record so he doesn't want to fight Taylor and lose it.!! It's like all these contender boxers, They look good on a TV show but that's it, Taylor now fights Cory Spinks on May 19th.
