Try a matte-finish pomade or mousse.

The got2b line works well.

Hair spray will leave your hair looking harder and less shiny as well.

Hair wax is a big no. It leaves your hair looking greasy.

If you choose the hair spray option, examine the label carefully and make sure it's made for holds, not volumizing.

you can use bees wax you can get it at Sally's beauty supply in the black peoples hair area it is like $2.50 or you can get garnier fructis surf hair those work well, i dont like to use gel it gets so stiff and shiny, but try those and if you need more support add some hair spray.

I use Hard Head by Tigi. Got2b Glued works well also.
