Not saying this is your problem but, something to consider...

Kidney Stones: What are the symptoms?
Typically, a person feels a sharp, cramping pain in the back and side in the area of the kidney or in the lower abdomen. Sometimes nausea and vomiting occur. Later, pain may spread to the groin.

He demands to look a general practitioner or this may increasingly get a lot worse. Chances are it's not (but ) his kidneys. You don't suppose suffering out of your kidneys except you're within the final phases of renal failure. He both has a UTI or kidney stones. Given his age and well being it's surely a kidney stone. If it does make a decision to cross he'll be in plenty of suffering. If, earlier than that the suffering raises you it maybe a well suggestion to name an ambulance and allow the staff argue with him - they're expert to persuade persons like him. I am a kind of (staff).

Go see a doctor;a gu or gi specialist. It could be gas,it could be muscle problem or an injury. Eating salt (sodium ) can harm your kidneys, but would not cause pain. You might not be drinking enough water. Be safe, see a doctor.
