Yeah it is. The hair texture in the photos aren't that wavy. Grow your hair out to that length and get long layers. If you need the extra volume, get it layered with a straight razor (ask your stylist to cut your hair with a razor, not scissors). Wash and condition hair with a thickening formulation then let hair air-dry. When it's like 80% dry. apply texturizing gel and gently scrunch hair a bit with your hands while it finishes drying.

Yes, definitely. Being an Asian girl, I've seen some Asian guys with wavy hair, but its not as soft as a white guys. Most Asian guys' hair defy gravity, because they like to keep it short and spikey.
