I know men who break viagra tablets in half and take them before sex. I don't take them so I don't know what the effect are by talking a half a 100mg pill. No, it's fine. Generally speaking, the only tablets that you want to avoid breaking in half are extended-release or sustained-release formulations of things. Your prescription bottle will usually say something like CR or SR or XR after the name of the drug if this is the case. (Of course, you can always ask your pharmacist to make sure.)

Viagra comes in 25mg, 50mg, and 100mg strength. Most of my male patients find that the 50mg strength is just fine, and the 100mg strength gives no extra benefit. And they *are* expensive. Try breaking the 100mg tablets and giving it a shot.

mmmmmm the two issues you seem to be worried about are the cost and taking half of 100mg. You can get viagra (sildenafil) in three dosages 25,50 and 100mg. the fact is that they basically all cost the same - give or take. therefore cutting the 100mg into two would, theoretically save you money. Using the same point though, it isn't dangerous at all doing this. As you can see, you can get 50mg tablets anyway. Add to that the fact that most doctors advise that men start on 50mg anyway and then decrease or increase if and when needed. This is an individual factor though, some men need more and others less. What works for others may not work for you. You should always see your doctor, if possibly, so that an ideal dose can be arranged and so the doctor can check that it is the right drug for you (most importantly because it shouldn't be taken under certain medical cirumstances)
