Calluses require daily treatment to maintain "soft, non-dry" feet. Clipping, shaving, etc. the callus skin off relieves it, but your body will build up more as a defense mechanism-thus not solving the issue. I prefer to use a coarse nail file to sand, then follow with a moisturizing soak, and an exfoliating lotion (I think Dr. Scholl's has one. I have B&BW kind that works well). The trick is, you have to continue every night (best because you relieve your feet of the daily stress with massage and give feet a break). The exfoliating lotion (made for breaking down the extra dry & moisturizing) works much better done daily than a regular lotion for feet! You could also alternate with a deep butter cream type lotion w/ socks (love this too). I love to go bare foot too much, so too soft feet doesn't work for that! Plus, feet just get more dry & callused! I hope this helps!

You can't. Calluses is the body's way of indicating that your skin in that area is being worn away too fast - so it grows it faster to avoid having it all rubbed off. You can remove them with a pumice stone (best to do while having a shower, so that the callus is softer), but it will come right back unless you fix the cause of the callus.
I used top get them on my hands from driving a truch all day, and on the bottom of my right foot from holding it on the gas pedal - gloves and more padded shoes fixed the cause. Women usually get them on their feel, because of the shoes they wear - better-fitting shoes is the solution (lower heels, sneakers, that sort of thing.)
Good luck!
