Well there are 4 sins that cry to heaven for vengence...the first is willful murder...the second is sin against nature...which is homosexuality. So...it is a worse sin then some of the others.
But I think we are seeing so much lately because so many are trying to make homosexuality normal. If it wasn't in the media so much it wouldn't seem as if they were being targeted.
Pornography is also a sin, but accepted by society as okay and normal. Homosexuality is trying to do the same. Being accepted doesn't make it less of a sin. If you truly care about the souls of others you will speak out.
The Lord's Prayer is asking God to forgive us as we forgive others. Gay people have not trespassed against me...but against God. That's totally different.

The attack or hatred toward anything is done out of basic fear...fear being the opposite of love. You also have to keep in mind perspectives of others...the Catholic church proclaimed chastity as a great gift to God, however, not originally being a detailed procamation, while focussing on heterosexual experiences, it was probably thought ok for nuns & priests to care for their human instincts amongst their own sexes, and this probably got a bit out of hand eventually, and so the focus turn toward gayeity (like that word?--pun intended LOL)
Just a thought....

Because it is so MUCH EASIER TO HATE whomever and whatever is different from one's mind-set of beliefs. Where in Christianity and Islam, a woman found not a virgin in the old days is punishable by death... In Guam law, it is actually forbidden for Virgins to get married!!! ( Go figure! )
Extremists kill, maim, kidnap, harm, murder due to hate incited by fanatical "religious" leaders, we are shocked and alarmed by the way they behave... but if we analyse carefully , these extremists are no different from any preacher/brethren who incites hatred among the parishioners towards gay people, or "colored" people, or jews or ANYONE different from them. Incited hatred inevitably creates violence which begets pain and suffering for those hated against.
Many christians have forgotten what Jesus Christ was all about, many of these very caustic rules were taken from the old testament when times were harsh and societies were wild. And much of the whole Condemning of Sinners came NOT from Jesus' Teachings but from Paul.
Jesus loved everyone, from the leper to the farmer to the fishermen to even the criminal who died beside him on the crufication grounds.... How is it that so many ( not all... I know many most loving and kind Christians ) modern Christians don't follow the Patriach of their faith... but follow Paul or create a version of Christianity based on their own biases and discriminatory views?

James 2:10 Says that any one that keeps all the commandments yet stumbles at one point is just as guilty as the one that breaks them all, (paraphrased) which means that in Gods eyes sin is sin, it is our human minds that place value on which sin is worse, such as lying verses murder.
I witness my faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior as much as I can, and I have come across many gays that proclaim " I'm gay", I usually reply, OK, so have you ever told a lie? I am not judging them, but what I do is ask them questions that lead them to judge themselves, which is something the Bible says that all should do. That is judge ourselves.
Jesus also said that we are to love each other as we love our selve, so would it be loving to withhold the life saving truth in order to spare their feelings?

It isn't hate to consider homosexuality as a sin. And also, most religions "target" all of those sins you mention. So what was your question? Oh yes the worst sin. No that's not the worst sin. Ask the question of religious what the worst sin is. I'll bet no one says "gay sex".

I do not hate people who are gay, but I am against homosexuality because I know it is morally wrong. and yes it is a sin to: have sex outside of marriage, to disobey your parents, to steal, and to do drugs. God loves ALL but he Hates our sin because he is PERFECT

Leviticus,19;15
Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour

And said to the judges, Take heed what ye do: for ye judge not for man, but for the LORD, who is with you in the judgment.

I am a heterosexual, but I do not hate gay people. I love them as children of God like we all are. I can not judge someone else because I am not perfect, at the same time I do not understand why someone would like someone of the same sex.

People are so afraid of what they don't understand. I know how you feel I get on here and I just can't believe some of the hateful things people will say, it just blows my mind that there is still so much ignorance in the world, I hope , no I know that I've taught my children better and I guess that's the best way to help make a change.

actually gay means "happy"
Those that practice the same style of sex with their wives are as guilty of sodomy as the homosexual male is guilty of it.
They believe Sodom was full of homosexual misconduct, when in a reality it was filled with orgies, bestiality, homosexual acts, and adultery. They take what they "think" is the worse of all sexual sin and claim it is the abomination. When all of it is!!!!
If homosexuals would be discreet about their sexual orientation, leave it at home... I think society would accept them for who they are, not for what they do in a bedroom. You don't see the adulterer go on national television, in marches across the land screaming they have rights to cheat on their spouses. Why do those that practice homosexuality think they need to make a statement? Their statement has caused the chaos in which they find them self in.
