Soda may or may not contain other water or fluids besides carbonated water.

Soda is just another name for carbonated water, but as we use it to refer to a drink then it can contain a lot of other things.

Carbonated water is just water that has carbon dioxide dissolved into it, usually under pressure, so that when the pressure is released it makes the bubbles. You can also directly carbonate many fluids with the right pressure and injection of CO2.

This can occur naturally in various ways such as fermentation as well.

It does have several negative health aspects of it's own by the way.

Tap water is actually polluted (even if it comes from the city aquafier) so carbonated water is what they put in soda. I suggest bottled water and good quality at that. Aquafina, Dasani are both good and very pure.
