Use some aloe, and make sure you keep your skin moisturized! Big time! Try to find a low-oil based lotion, like those juicees or whatever brand that is they sell in like hair salons and all over the place. Those are the best. Keeping it from peeling isn't too easy, but use some aloe, and take cool showers, but not freezing cold... like a little above lukewarm, and use cool facecloths when you can't stand it anymore. Just keep it moisturized, and don't peel the skin - because while it may feel good for like a second or two, in like five seconds your skin that you revealed underneath will dry out because the lymphnoid juice whatever it is that was healing your burn underneath dries up and then your skin dries bad and cracks and it burns worse than before and there is no healing it or moisturizing it no matter what. Trust me, I have had several billion sunburns, and at least ten that were second degree or third degree. I know, sunscreen would have helped. Trust me, I've learned!!!

You want to apply aloe vera. It is best if you can get the actual plant because the mannose glyconutrient is still active when it is taken from a live plant. Make sure you use it as soon as you pick it off because after 2 hours, oxidation sets in and all the good stuff goes away. The good stuff in aloe vera isn't always stabilized and retained in some lotions. Just break off a leaf, squeeze some of the gel onto your burns, and rub it on.

Put some nice aloe on it, that will make it feel better. It won't turn into a tan until a couple of weeks, if your skin is one of those that burns, fades, and then tans. For now, don't spend more time in the sun, it will only make it worse if you don't use suntan lotion.

Go to Rite-Aide or CVS into the sun tan or sun block lotion area. There's a lotion (I'm guessing aloe vera) that takes that burning sensation away. Either way, most sun burns turn into tans after a few days (unless, you are super pale white, then you'll just be red!!!).

put lotion...preferably one containing aloe...on it right away. you can't turn it into a tan or undo the damage from UV rays, but you can minimize itching and peeling.
