I just let my daughter decide when she was ready. I wouldn't push it too much because she is barely over two. My daughter is still not pooping on the potty and she is 3 1/2. I think she won't poop now because we pushed her too much. She'll come around . . . incentives sometimes helps. Good luck!

Every child differs when it comes to potty training. Here are my top five suggestions.
1. Constantly talk about using the potty. Brag about how big girls use the potty. Don't force her to use the potty but constantly remind her.
2. Take her around other children who are in later stages of potty training. Maybe you have a friend or a family member who has a kid you can set her up on a play date with. When they go to the potty, make sure she goes with them.
3. Give her lots of praise when she does anything associated with the potty. If she sits on it, clap. When she uses it, make up some sort of potty dance that you both do. She'll like the that you're getting involved.
4. There's nothing wrong with a bribe. Next time you're at a store with a toy section, brag about a toy you know she's interested in. Tell her it's a big girl toy that only big girl's who use the potty can play with.
5. Let her choose out panties at the store. Not the potty training ones, the real deal. Let her try a pair on but tell her you're putting the rest up until she's ready for them.
It's not an easy process and as you know she won't do it until she's completely ready. It will happen though. Don't give up and don't let her see you sweat. Communication is key. If you want her to act like a big girl, treat her like one. Good Luck!

when potty training my daughter, I tried pull ups...... and they were great for outings and bed time, but while at home, she wore panties. I didn't bother with a potty chair either, I purchased a rubbermaid step stool, with a no-slide grip. I also monitored her more closely with what she drank, knowing that some drinks would make her go more often than others. I also rewarded her with a few M & Ms everytime she "made potty". The trick with that is, it's the only time I gave her candy.
My Bubby would "read" books until he made potty, worked great for him!

just switch to panties of her choice that she will like and not go back to diapers not even at night work with the peeing first then pooping second give her a chance. if you switch panties during the day and diaper at night she gets confused and wont learn as fast . you can also try adding color to the big potty with food colring i did for my daughter and she loved it and it made her and encouraged her to go to the potty to see the color of the water the next time she went in to use it food coloring is cheap at the dollar store try it you will never know unless you do!!and what is she doing when she is in her specific mood and keep that in mind as well you may have to wash more laundry but it is cheaper and easier than having to carry diapers and wipes around with you

I got my daughter a potty chair and sat it in the living room where she spent most of her time. I let her run around (most of the time) without a diaper, and encouraged her to sit on it. Especially when she first wakes up in the morning, about 15 minutes after drinks, before bed. She was trained in no time.

mine just turned 3 and still go when she wants ,but at times rather do it in her pampers than to go potty, and hunts you down later for a pamper change. sometimes she sits for 10 mim. to 1/2 hour before doing anything and sometimes passes large stools and cries. we were told by the doctor to give plenty of water and this was a normal behaviour

I have 3 girls 2 trained by 29 months. They both had occasional interest and woke up one day saying no diapers I wear panties. The 3rd is 25 months and is showing interest. I let her pick out her own panties. She doesn't want to pee on My little pony. LOL

You can try giving her something you know she loves (like a piece of candy or coins to go into a piggy bank) every time she goes potty.
Diapers and pull ups are easy, try to put her in big girl panties and remind her to go to the potty often.. Eventually she will not want to go in her big girl undies!

leave her alone and don't force the issue. she knows how to go potty. give her the tools. she needs panties, a step stool to reach the toilet and sink, and toilet paper. she has just started the first of many contests between the 2 of you. pick your battles carefully.
