The Kabbalah is not itself a book. It is a wisdom that is recorded in multiple books, including the Sefer Yetzirah and the Sefar Zohar, amongst others.

Those who study it do believe in its wisdom. It is a difficult study, and many simply do not have interest in it. I have known a rabbi who when I mentioned my interest in Kabbalah commented, "It's an interesting topic but if I found myself in a Jewish library, it's not the aisle I'd go looking for."

The Jewish belief is that only older people with years of training in the basics of the religion should be allowed to study the Kabbalah.
