You should be going to bed at 10:00 on a school night if you're getting up around 7. Kids your age need to get at least 9 hours of sleep a night. You will do better in school and be more alert all day.

It is said a person need 8 hours of sleep. So, 12-8 is 8 hours. 1-9 is 8 hours. That the simple math; addition, you will learn it one day, just get plenty of sleep. :-p
Now myself, I stay up until 2-3 and sleep until around 8 so, I only getting 5-6 hours of sleep and during the day, I make up the difference when no one is looking. ;-)

Your bedtime usually depends on where you live in the world. As for US, that's not abnormal. You should sleep around 10:30-11:30.
Nevertheless, you should know that a healthy amount of sleep is at least 8 hours. If you have any hopes of growing taller, sleep more.

You don't go to public school do you? You would have to be at school by 8, right?
If you get to sleep by 10:30 this would give you a healthy amount of time to rest, your body and your brain.

take the time that you want to wake up (for example, 7am) and go backwards about 8 or 9 hours.
So if you want to wake up at 7am every morning, then you should go to sleep by 10 or 11pm every night. That way, you'll feel refreshed and can concentrate better in school.

remember that teenagers need 8-10 hours each night. so if you'd like to get up at 7 every morning, go to bed about 10 every night. it is best to go to bed the same time everynight and get up the same time every morning---even on weekends. they say your body does best on a steady schedule like this. And it does work, i live it every day.
