Why do americans hate the religion of islam? I dont mean all of them hate muslims.?

I am a muslim from north Iraq. For the people that hate me or muslims just be honest say what you want to say. YOU JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND THE RELIGION OF ISLAM GO BUY A QUR'AN AND READ IT. THEN ANWSER MY QUESTION AGAIN. YOU WAILL BE MORE EDUCATED IF YOU DO.

I don't hate all muslims, and I live in the US. One of my friends is muslim, and he had to deal with the racism. I hate murders, but not of any race, just all of them. Why should one who is muslim be any worse than the christian?

Anyone that hates with a passion isn't always informed. They just feel an emotion and go with it. Most Americans understand the Muslim religion to be one of violence. Our country was attacked because alot of us don't believe in that religion. Anytime people are attacked for what they don't believe in, hate tends to be the result.

I don't know alot about the religion but, the extremist have given it quite a bad name. I don't think all Americans hate Muslims. We don't like terrorism and a forced way of life.

We are lied to in america about muslims. We are shown videos, just the same couple of videos, of men beating women for their veils falling down. But we never wonder, gee, why was someone right there with a video camera filming that woman to catch this? We are told lies about what is actually in the quran and what muslims believe, but we rarely read the quran for ourselves, we just believe the lies. We don't take the time to find out, individually, the truth. I have a female muslim friend from Jordan. A male muslim friend in India. A somewhat adopted muslim son who used to live in Somalia. I love all of them. They are nothing like what is told to us.

I don't think Americans hate the religion of Islam. Some do. I'm American and I do not hate it. I'm Christian, yes, but I don't hate Islam. Truth is, I know little about it. The reason why Islam is not regarded very highly here is that the terrorists who killed thousands of civilians here were Islamic.

Because some muslims kill innocent people for their religion, and some people (not just Americans), stereotype them as the same.
Not all Americans hate islam, just like not all Muslims are terrorists. It's that way of thinking that has gotten us where we are now.

As a Christian, I grew up with two of my best friends two Muslim girls beside my house. I honestly think that I may have thought very differently about 9/11 if I did not personally know that they were just of faith like us, even if I didn't believe that theirs was the true faith. There is a lot of misinformation about Islam, but Christians need to learn to love Muslims, but not agree with their teachings.

I'm american and I don't, honestly it's that the most education they get (i guess we get) is what we see on the news, and only what is extremely or 'news' worthy makes it on , the news. And sadly that is the negative aspect, so americans are being bombarded with negative images and ideas, and they use this as their only source, it's not right, but many people, societies in general, to the exact same things to other people. i.e Americans have a bad image as a whole because of hick like sterotypes, and sadly...our president..bush: (

I'm not American but when I see people in moslem dress I feel revultion, because of the terrorism in the world,,
At christmas time, even a nativity scene makes me think terrorist,
Its a sad fact of life that all moslems are being judged as bad.
