The Saturn Outlook the Acadia's platform sibling, already had a problem but it was quickly fixed. Go to http://blogs.cars.com/kickingtires/2007/03/suburban_dad_gm.html
It will help from a family persons view.

individually, i'm no longer a huge fan of any Gm product, yet as quickly as I had to compliment. i might get the GMC Acadia. some 365 days in the past, we've been thinking approximately getting the two a Acadia or Enclave. i think of that the Enclave is to over completed, prefer to plenty chrome and pretend wood. i think of that the Acadia Denali has plenty sportier and bolder seem. The Enclave purely feels like a fat persons automobile. ( no offence to each and each guy or woman that has one). If there are any ideas i ought to grant you. you should think of roughly getting a German automobile like a Mercedes, yet once you purely prefer the Enclave or Acadia... bypass with the Acadia

Well just drove one Friday rides great..looks great.(my opinion) but after working on GM vehicles for 15 yrs in a dealer. again my opinion..WAIT..2002 Aztec and rendezvous horrible elect. problems 2002 trail blazer, envoy same thing..The engine is a variation of a great (for GM) engine..trans is brand new!!That's why I drove one did a recall for shift problems...I personally get sick of GM using the public as a proving ground...BUT with that being said They are the best at making improvements and not being afraid to take massive steps forward...That does come at a price..And that is the first model yrs have bug,glitches,etc.etc.. The Acadia will be a great truck just I'm thinking not this yr.. If you like it that much just lease it for 2yrs

If you take one for a test drive you will fall in love. This is the best crossover vehicle on the market. I just saw the motor trend television review of the Acadia on TV and they love it. GM has obviously spent a lot of time making sure to get this vehicle right. The fit and finish is flawless!

Any vehicle made by any manufacturer has the potential to have problems. A modern car or truck is a VERY complicated piece of machinery!
If you like it,then buy it! If there are any inherant flaws in your vehicle they will most likely show up in the first few months of driving. Gm's warranty will take care of it. Just make sure they provide you with a rental if you have to leave it in the shop overnight.
Like I said, problems can potentially occur on any new car.

I'd wait a year, GM has a nasty habit of rushing cars to market without all the bugs worked out....this comes from an owner of a new model year 2002 Trailblazer, that had lots of problems during our first few years.

My opinion is: I don't think you need to be buying a new car at this time in your life. Think of the high payments, the high insurance, the high gas prices. Isn't there somewhere you'd rather spend that money? And what ever happened to saving it for a rainy day? Is this how you were raised- to squander your hard earned money. I really expected more of you!

If you have a 7person family, it might work out, because it is a crossover/minivan. If you're a contractor or anything that needs a truck-like layout, the Sierra or Chevy Silverado might be good. Otherwise, a sedan might be enough.
