I have 5 girls standing up with me, and four of the 5 have the same dress, one of those is my matron of honor. My cousin, number 5, had to get a different dress due to not having one that fit in her size, and being last minute. WHat is a special title I could call her, as she is a great friend of mine too?

My twin sister is my matron of honor, and four of my friends are standing up with us as well.. Problem is one of my girls, not my twin, had to get a different dress than the others and so I want to give her a special title, what should it be?

Thanks for the input. I've decided to call her the Lead Attendant, as she as well as my sister is married... She wasn't a last minute addition, and her and I already talked when finding a dress today. Thanks again!!!

I like the lead attendant idea.

people may be confused as to why she's wearing a different dress and not standing right next to you as matron of honor.
I like the idea of calling her maid of honor and the other one matron of honor. But don't pick out a different title - she's probably already self-conscious of her size , then she's put in a different dress and stands out even more, and if you add a special title she'll stand out that much more and she may feel uncomfortable.
I'm having my mom as MOH and she didn't want to stand out becuase she'll already be the oldest one standing next to me - plus she'll be crying her eyes out.
so make sure you ask if she's comfortable before you title her something else.
by the way - there's nothing wrong with calling her a bridesmaid.
God Bless!

Um, she is the matron of honor with a different dress. She will stand out because of the different dress & 'cause she is the matron of honor. Plus, it is your day, don't worry about her so much or what she be called. My sister is my matron of honor & she has a different dress from anyone, but same color. I promise, no one will care or think twice because they will be looking at YOU.

Don't embarrass her by making her stand out with some made up title. She is one of your bride maids, who happens to be in a different color. There you go. One less stress you have to deal with. Make it a non issue. Twenty years down the road, you won't even care about such a little thing. You'll be glad she was there as one of your attendants,
P.S. she's already uncomfortable being "last minute", don't compound it.

you already called her it. matron of honor. that is what you call the person who is your maid of honor but she is married so she is call matron. she is also the one with the different dress and is the planner of your bridal shower and bachlorette party. it shouldn't matter her size but that she is the chosen one to be the one who stands up next to you and walks down the aisle last before you. she holds the ring for you and also holds your bouquet when you get to the alter. good luck with everything and just have a fun.

she doesn't need a special title, she is a bridesmaids, that's it. It doesn't matter if her dress matches. A lot of people have different bridesmaids dresses, but all the same color. My maid of honor has a different dress than the bridesmaids. but no biggie....Don't stress over this, worry about more important things.

You could call her an Honorary Bridesmaid. Have her walk the aisle but not stand in the front; she'll sit with the family instead. I've seen this done a lot.

If she's not married, you could call her your maid of honor. I know some people have both a maid and matron of honor.
