Ok im people person and i like to make jokes and just have fun with anyone i meet even if i never have seen them before. but when it comes to someone im intrested in have trouble trying to find things to talk about. I dont know why im not nerves or anything but when i try to talk my mind draws a blank so we end up talking about what were doing on the weekend and other things that make me feel akward. So i was wondering how to get over this?

try asking a lot of questions . . . you know, since you're goal is to know them better anyway!

Just relax. Try not to think so much that your interested in them and just try to be yourself. Sometimes it helps to if you ask about them. You could also just say that your drawing a blank on conversation and they may end up telling you a story about how they have the same problem or they will laugh and the tension will loosen. Just try to think of the person your talking to as a friend even if your interested in them because they have to be a friend before anything else.

At this time I don't talk to very many people that is the reason I am on this site. In about two months I will be in a different setting and most likely will not ge here very often.

I talk to people about anything and everyting as long as it is kept friendly. If not then I shut up about that and on to something else.

Try to envision the lady you are interested in as someone you already know, I mean within reason, no Noogies or fart jokes, but mentally prepare yourself to relax and be your self.

learn how to get the other person talking about themselves
by asking open questions and doing 'active listening'
study the art of listening. get a book from the library
