I was going to get married in the summer of 2007 but things didn't work out the way I hoped. My guy that I was planing to spend the rest of my life with has Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and pretty much pushed me out of his life. Now I'm left with a big ring and want notting to do with it. Everytime I look at it. I get sick to my stomach. What should I do with it. Should I give it back to him, take it to a pawn shop and give it away or should I give it to his faimly? I don't know. But I don't want something that reminds me of him all the time.

No you shouldnt keep it, if he wont take it, which I would assume he wont if he is dealing with these issues, I would give the ring to his mother to do with what she sees fit.

Honestly I think if you pawned it you would get a whole lot of bad karma associated with the ring, no matter what you bought when you looked at it you would think that it was bought with the money from that ring. You wouldnt want that headache either.

Best of luck to you.

Id put it in a drawer somewhere and keep it, people often get help and recover from PST. Then they can go back and restart their lives, you are bitter but you still care. Don't just sell it like a material possesion, there was a lot of love put into that ring and what it represents. So keep it for awhile and support him, and his family, as best you can.

Don't leave him in this time of need- if he has a disorder -give him a chance to get better! The knot you feel tells you that you still care about him - you should try some counseling. That is sad that you would leave him at a time like that.

Firstly, really sorry to here of your pain.

Secondly, if it makes you feel bad, I'd give it back to him. I am not sure how sick he is though - he may not want to be bothered with it so if you are still on good terms with his family maybe talk to his mum and dad and they can hold on to it until he gets better/ request something done with it. Let him know that they have it though or get them to tell him.

Good luck sweety.

you could give it to him or his family if he wants it back but if he wanted you to keep it then you could sell it so you won't be reminded of him. buy yourself something nice or put it in savings.
make sure he doesn't want it back though - cuz if you sell it - it'll be hard to give it back.

Give it back to him or his family, he bought it and so should have the final say in what happens to it.

Take it to a local jewler and have them take out the diamonds and make a necklace or something else pretty.

Give it back to him.

If he says you can keep it, sell it on ebay/craigslist/newspaper.

You should keep it.. He gave it to you, so it's yours.. If you don't want it, maybe you could donate it to Goodwill or some charity for a tax write-off?
