how much would this cost?
1985 f250 dsl auto
its a 2x4 and i want to make it a 4x4 ne one have ne more ideas?

it all depend on how cheap you can get the parts ( front axle, suspension, transfer case drive shafts). it also so depend how well you can fab up part's. you should be able to swap out the twin I beam with the twin traction beam from the same year truck because the frame of the two truck should be the same. the only different between the two truck are the front suspension. two wheel drive truck uses a coil spring and the four wheel drive truck uses leaf spring. the frame of the two wheel drive should have the hole in the frame for leaf spring mounts. you might have to change the tranny from a two wheel drive to a four wheel drive tranny to get the transfer case to fit. you will need to get the rear drive shaft from the four wheel drive because it is short than the two wheel drive because of the transfer case. if you do it this way good luck with the swap.

Way way way cheaper to just find your same rig in 4wd or you could buy a 4wd model for cheap and swap all the necessary hardware over.But not worth the trouble for a 1985 no offense

either buy a cheap one with a shot motor and put yours in it or buy a 4x4 and do a engine conversion i have seen a 4.1 ford motor in a nissan 4x4
