I would like to know if using ccleaner to clean my regedit is safe, and wont mess my laptop up. Thanks for the help.

Anytime you make changes to the registry, you risk some pretty unpredictable results.

Unless you're certain that there's a virus in the registry, I'd just leave it alone.

I think that CCleaner is WONDERFUL. I used to have to call my brother about once a month to 'wipe a virus from my computer; but since I got CCleaner about 8 months ago, I haven't even had one problem. Of course, I also run a really good anti-virus program with it.... I recommend using Avast! and CCleaner together.

I have used it regularly for about a year on 12 PCs and 4 laptops, with no bad experiences to date. Each and everyone of them gets a weekly registry cleanup for maintenance, and everytime a program is installed.

Ccleaner is part of my basic toolkit for PC maintenance, it works great and I consider it safe, but you should do a backup of your registry at least before usign it for the first time.

I can't say, but CCleaner has never messed anything on my cpu up and I use it all the time.
