Your body only needs 1-2 Tablespoons of essential fats like omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids a day!! Omega 6 fatty acids you get from grains and bread products and Omega 3 fatty acids you get from fish and peanut butter and some oils. When you eat the recommended serving sizes these fatty acids participate in vital bodily functions (ex. regulating blood flow). When you exceed the daily amount which most people do, then these fats act as other fats and get stored directly as fat storage.

Fat is not only calories that make us overweight. There are “good” and “bad” fats.
Bad fats: all vegetable oils (except olive), Trans fats (produced when vegetable oils are heated for frying).
Good fats: omega 3, butter, saturated fat( only if it is from cattle fed no grains), coconut oil( better for frying), very little omega 6.
One capsule of omega 3 has 10 calories. Nothing.
Good fats are the raw material to build our immunology system, our hormone balance, our brain is 60% fat. You see, you should eat a LOT of fat.

There are supplements for this, but I once heard that Omega 3 may thin your blood so you should check with your Dr. before starting a routine.

I looked at one Omega-3 supplement online.
One serving size (4 capsules) was 35 calories. So, offhand I would say that it would be negligible.
I've had a positive response to taking Omega-3 supplements, so I recommend them.

No, they are very good for you and most commonly found in foods like fish. Some people who are lacking Omega 3 can get depressed.

Yes Omaga fats can be fattening. If you want less fat then eat the whiter fishes and stay away from fish like salmon.

Its good unsaturated fat . You body won't utilize in the way it does for, lets say, a big mac. Don't be put off by the nutrition facts on the label.
