Hi Michelle...thanks for adding me to your Contact List and I see by your profile that you needed my help. If you want free music, then you would have to use a shareware program such as Limewire. But if you want to pay for the songs you are getting you can buy them from the iTunes store, or any other site selling music (Rhapsody, Napster, any of them really). Or if you have CD's, you can import those into iTunes and then put them on your iPod. The key is that however you get the song, it must be in iTunes to be put on your iPod. I buy songs from a site that sells unrestricted songs (which means I can burn them to CD, play them on my computer or someone else's computer) or put them on my iPod. When I've bought songs from walmart.com, I haven't been able to put those on my iPod. I've had pretty good luck with the ones I've gotten from iTunes, but now I pretty much use this other site for everything I get.
