We did this for 17 yrs.It depends. If the house is new construction or empty, spraying works OK. We found that roller worked best in most cases of new construction or occupied homes.Because you get heavier coverage and better control of application. This is especially true if you are changing colors.Carefully masking off woodwork, etc. is of utmost importants. Two or three people painting makes the job go much faster. We had one person that just painted edges around woodwork, one painting top and bottom edge and one rolling.

If you are painting an empty, uncarpeted room, a sprayer is fastest. If this is an occupied home, the best method is a power roller. Paint is pumped to a roller so you never need to take the time to collect it from a roller paint pan.

Usually a combination of the sprayer and a person who follows with an 18" roller and a 9" for tight spaces to keep the texture uniform.Good Luck.

sray would be the fastest if you can do it without splatter. The next fastest and probably safest would be the roller. I think an 8X12 room could be done in less than an hour with 2 people working.
