Humans have a great desire to group...along with a love of tradition, no matter how bizarre or inane. To break such is to think for Self, which a great majority have been successfully programmed against in the human management stream of things over vastly numerous years.
Add the fact that organized religion is the most wealth producing business--internationally speaking & its powers are integrated into every facet of every governing system of this world....hey! We got a Keeper!
See?

Would that I knew! I read recently that 95% of Americans believe in God. And 65% belong to a church. I assume this has something to do with the fact that our earliest ancestors were very religious and came here to escape religious persecution in Europe. Also their form of religion was quite conservative and forbidding. You would hope that well over 100 years of Darwin's evolution theory and modern science would've swayed these peoples thinking. But if anything, they seem even more fervent in their anti-intellectual non-thinking.

I believe in organized religion because there is evidence that it exists. Now the truth of any claims made by organized religion are a different story.

I believe in God. In seeking Him I attend Church. Organized religion is the framework we use to grow in faith.
If you plant a garden, it's good to put stakes in so the plants have a structure to climb up towards the sun.
It's the same with religion. It is our structure as we reach for God.

Oddly enough, its because of bad education. There are still people graduating high school that think science says we come from monkeys. That should never happen in a first world country.

I don't believe in religion; I believe in God. It just so happens that I find like-minded people in churches (funny, that), so that is where I choose to go on Sundays.
