The personal name of the only true God is Jehovah. His own self designation.Jehovah is the Creator and rightfully, the Sovereign Ruler of the universe."Jehovah" is translated from the Hebrew Tetragrammaton which means "He causes to Become".These four Hebrew letters are represented in many lanugages by the letters JHVH or YHWH.
No human today can be certain how it was originally pronounced in Hebrew.Because Biblical Hebrew was originally written with only consonants,no vowels. When the language was in everyday use, readers easily provided the proper vowels. In time, however, gthe Jews came to have th superstitiious idea that it was wrong to sayd God's personal name out loud,so they used substitute expressions.Over the centuries the original pronunciation of the divine name was lost. Many scholars favor the spelling "Yahweh",but it is uncertain and there is not agreement among them.On the other hand,"Jehovah" is the form of the name that is most readily recognized, because it has been used in English for centuries and preserves, equally with other forms, the four consonants of the Hebrew Tetragrammaton.

Most people were correct here when they said God's name is Jehovah. In order to get close to God, we need to know his name and use it. When you introduce yourself to someone, don't you first tell them your name? Also, there are many gods, as someone mentioned, but there is only one Almighty God, the Creator, and it would only be appropriate to distinguish Him from the rest.
Also, in regards to the Christian Greek Scriptures, Jesus himself used the name of his Father when praying to Him. Even when giving a model prayer in Matthew chapter 6 he said, "Our Father in the heavens, let your NAME be sanctified, let your will take place as in heaven, also upon earth...." Now why would he say that if the name was not to be used? Jesus also frequently read from the Hebrew Scriptures when preaching in the temple, which includes God's name. The writers of the Greek Scriptures also quoted from the Hebrew Scriptures. Had they removed God's name, they would be going against what Revelation 22:19 says.
The reason many Bible translations exclude the name is because the translators removed it and were carrying out Satan's purposes without even knowing it. And as the verse mentioned clearly states, "God will take his portion away from the trees of life." But, God will definitely carry out His purposes and sanctify His name in due time. And all will come to know that he is Jehovah.

:) sorry...couldn't resist.

The commonly accepted English pronunciation of the one true God's name is Jehovah.

Ezekiel 38:23: "And I shall certainly magnify myself and sanctify myself and make myself known before the eyes of many nations; and they will have to know that I am Jehovah.’"

Psalm 83:18: "That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth."

I assume you mean the Abrahamic God? His name is YHWH (pronounced yoad-hay-vahv-hay, and meaning "That I Am"). It was purposefully corrupted into names such as "Yahweh" and "Iehovah," so as not to blaspheme by speaking His name aloud. Then, it became simply "God," because Christians convinced themselves that YHWH was the only god, and that to speak even the corrupted Names was blasphemy.

Which one? God the Father? God the Son? God the Holy Spirit? Or does God refer to a belief?

God has many names/titles which describe the many facets of his character.

The Holiest of all names, however, is the LORD, which is YHWH.

YHVH... "I AM"

...but don't let the Jehovah's Witnesses convince you that EVERYONE should call him that. NO ONE among the early Christians did, and they had spirit-filled apostles to guide them. The New Testament doesn't pass the name along to any of the non-Jewish Christians and it was a cultural faux pas for the Jewish Christians to say the name... So it is probable that no Christians, including the apostles EVER did it until they came along!

... Were the JW's point true, then they should be TRANSLATING it "I AM" instead of using the meaningless form that they use. Ancient names HAD MEANING. This one CERTAINLY DID.
(Ancients often TRANSLATED their names TO PRESERVE THEIR MEANING, like Peter and Cephas, BOTH MEAN "ROCK.")

Were a Christian going to focus on the name, that MEANING should be their focus, not the meaningLESS gibberish that some use.

The I AM, the one who exists outside of time and space, both of which he created.

YHWH, Elohim, Adonai, many others. This does remind me of a story my pastor told about a father that was listening to his 5 year old son praying. The little boy said, "Dear Howard, please bless Mommy, Daddy, etc." The father then went in to ask the boy why he was calling God, Howard. The little boy said that was God's name. You know the prayer, "Our Father who art in Heaven, Howard be thy name..."
