Like just general fishing. I'm eager to go fishing but don't want to get caught illegally fishing. I can't find the date on the WDNR website..

Fishing has been banned in Wisconsin. It seems that Al Lindner of In-Fisherman Magazine fame was filming a show in your state and caught them all. He was using a Rapala Shad Rap.

Generally it is the first SA of May.

IIRC you can always fish for most species year around but you can only keep during open seasons. Check the regs to confirm that.

But of course, it all depends on what for & where you are fishing. Check the reg.s and if needed consult a game-lawyer. I swear game regulations in this state are getting more and more complicated every year and pretty soon we will need lawyers.

fishing season never ends. get a license, get a booklet of the regulations, and get out there and do it.

You just need a license--depending on WHERE you're fishing would dictate what you can fish for.
