Vista is full of bugs, I had to use the restore disc on my new laptop 5 hours after getting it home as it was screwed.
I have since found that most problems are solved by right clicking on any shortcuts you have and setting RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR
But without info on what is happening we can't really help.

uninstall vista and reinstall xp vista is new and they have not fixed all the bugs in it i would wait 6 to 8 months before i would even think about using vista that way microsoft has a chance to fix it
