How do I tell the age by reading the numbers on the bands located on cockatiel's feet? I am talking about the bands that people put on their feet when they are 10 years old. I have 3 cockatiels who are banded and there numbers are:

1) 805 AAC 05 N
2) 142 AAC BFB 03 P
3) 1523 AAC 01 N

Not sure that the bands are going to tell you that information. Usually when you buy bands, you fet a series of numbers, and you need to record the information on the birds somewhere and list the band number so you will know which bird it refers to. the 01. 03 and 05 may be the year that they were hatched, but not necesarily. You would need to contact the breeder to find out that information.

Sometimes you can tell, but in a lot of cases the breeder has simply made up their own system that no one else (sometimes not even them) can decipher. Speak to the original breeder.
