Seriously--I wore heavy hoops in my youth and now in my 50's--my earlobes are horribly long and look awful. I suppose this is not a medical necessity(vanity) so Kaiser won't do it. Or would Kaiser do it? Would I have to go to a private plastic surgeon? And how much might it cost? Help, please!

You can pay "not sure what type of doctor" just to stitch your current piercing closed..."should be 2 stitches each" then once it is healed....This can be done in office...no sedation. Then have them pierced again and only where studs. I always wore light hoops...never heavy...at 25 I stopped all together and my husband bought me diamond studs..so the earring hole is still intact and not stretched. I am not 50---but I am 36...so I understand :) Call a plastic surgeon and they can point you in a direction of who. Good Luck

Ask Kaiser to chop your earlobes off, I'm sure he'll do it on the cheap...

wear large dia(10mm) ear studs. Avoid wearing earrings as it innvariably enlarges the holes.
