My uncle intorduced me to his friend. I'm 21 and he's 36. Most people including my parents think I am very mature for my age. My mother wouldn't hate the idea of the age difference since she married someone 15 years younger than her. But we have had a problem or two because I'm more shy and sweeter than most of the girls he is used to. He is used to bold women and stuff. However, I really like him and think he likes me. I'm just wondering if you think the age difference is too much for us!

Yep, he is too old for you. I don't want to make a generalization about people in prison but it's likely he has been around bold women. Your mother wouldn't hate the idea of the age difference but I'll bet she would hate the idea of his criminal record.
Question is - why are you not currently dating a lot, and people you're own age? You may come across as mature because you are fairly obedient - I had that problem when I was young and considered 'mature'. I think you should stay away from this guy. I also think you should get out and try to date more.

In relationships age has not significant difference as long as the couple in the relationship is mature and can handle it without it being a problem, you can work on all the odd aspects of the things going on between you and keep open-minds and keep the communication flowing you should be ok. Since your parents have no objection to it then you don't have to worry about there input, if you are worried about it yourself and don't think it is going to work then end the relationship while it is still fresh.

Only you can answer that question. For some it's a problem and for some it's not. They usually say it's not a good idea for different reasons. If you're not too involved yet you might want to get out, but if you have feelings for him then it's up to you. Good Luck
