OK. I dont really believe there is an imaginary person above he earth watching what everyone does. I mean if there was a GOD why would he allow so many innocent people to die everyday. And if he "loves" us so much, why let all of these bad things happen to us. I dont want bad things to happen to the people i love. Now there is sometimes when I just have t believe in someone or else i will feel so alone. Im still pretty confused about my "GOD" point of view.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

please be open minded and dont come at me with the
"YOU ARE GOING TO HELL" bs.

I agree that there is some such **** in life that seemingly serves no purpose and I don't understand why it exists. Bad things happen to good people. However, I do believe in God for a few reasons- First- If I have no God, then I am truly alone, and when I have no other allies, I must put my hope in Him. Secondly- I was born into this religion, like most people. Thirdly- If there is no God, than certainly no harm can come from beleiving in Him, unless you do something really stupid. I don't believe Christianity is the only "way" however. I think that all "Good" religions are a heart the same, and that Christianity is merely my "way."

You should realize there actually are people who have directly experienced God, and I happen to know one who wrote a book about it, called "Heaven On Earth - A Guide to Enlightenment & Human Unity" by Stephen D'Amico, available at ameekpress.com or amazon.com. You sound as if your own inner spirituality is much unexplored and underdeveloped. There is so much more than just the surface appearance of things in this life. If you want to learn more about finding some answers to the mysteries of life, there's a great website you could go to at: www.centerpointe.com. It could help you learn how to find your own spiritual center, from which you'll come to better understand the intelligence behind all that confuses you. There really is a reason for everything! Take care!

I know that looking at things from our human vantage point it is difficult to understand why God would allow such things as you mention. someone has already mentioned the bigger issue that is involved and that God does intend to do something about the suffering of humans. An illustration that may help you understand things better is this: When I was a child, I sometimes got sick and had to have injections. These injections hurt. I would sometimes cry and not want to take them and felt that the nurses administering them were mean and hateful. Additionally I could not understand why my mother, whom I was sure loved me, allowed this to happen. Even when they explained that these shots would make me feel better, I did not see it. After all, I did not immediately become well after the shot. Of course once I did get well I hardly even remembered the temporary pain of the shot. Mankind today is in a similar situation. Romans 8:22 says "For we know that all creation keeps on groaning together and being in pain together until now."
God has promised to make us well. The solution is his kingdom by Christ Jesus. This is a permanent solution that will undo all the harm done by Satan the Devil. (1John 3:8)

Very good question. I will tell you my point of view about God.

I believe God is really a superior force, that makes us and condusts us to a certain point. He doesnt make our decisions, but He observes us. Through several lives, He gives us the chance to perform a better job here in the Earth.
In the beggining, we were primitive souls, we couldn't understand about love and forgiveness, we commited a lot of mistakes. Through centuries we have had the chance to improve ourselves, and we need to learn a lot to progress. That's why we have several lives.

God gives us free will, so that we can choose whatever we want to do. However, we'll have consequences for what we made wrong, if not in this life, in the next one. That's why God allows someone to suffer, that's how you rescue all the vicious and hate and revenge and all the other bad deeds of past lives. That how we learn how to love each other, respect, tolerance, forgiveness. Think about it, you come to this world and you decide to do bad things, you cheat, you hurt, you kill, you lie, you make others suffer, and then you die and nothing happens to you? No, you're going to be born again and live close to those you hurt in the previous life. So, that person that you made suffer or killed, will come as your son, or wife, or brother... Therefore, God doesn't allow us to suffer, He allows us to have another chance with those we hurt in a past life. As we say in my religion, every suffering is a chance to progress.

You said if He loves us, He wouldnt do those things, but isn't it love? Giving us a chance after another to improve? Think about life as a school, where we come, learn, have test and then die.

But God is so good, that He doesnt leave us alone. We have several spirits around us, helping, giving us insight, inspiration, strength, wisdom, perseverance, tolerance. We connect to those spirits through prayer.

I hope you get a better sense of God and dont feel alone or confused anymore. You are not alone at all. God expects you to succeed and be happy. If you fail on something, He still loves you and you will have another chance next life.

If you want to talk some more, email me.

My religion is Spiritism.

Peace!

First of all God is not a physical being, man has been given a free will, and from this free will man makes choices in his life, and the choices man makes are not always good ones, Innocent people do die everyday by mans hand or creation not Gods, humans live in a physical world God dose not, God dose not interfere with the physical world, we simply pray to God to save our soul in a spiritual world, God will not stop anything that happens in a physical world, only man can do that.

There isn't an imaginary person above the earth. There's an all wise, all knowing Being that does care and love us. But He also wants us to believe, love, trust, and obey Him. He allows (not makes) bad things to happen. Think of having your own child. You love your child with all your heart, right? You also want your child to know right from wrong for his own good, right? In a very simple example, your child wants to eat sour candy. You know he doesn't like it, but he really wants to eat this candy. You tell him he's not going to like it. You will allow him to have this sour candy knowing he may just spit it back out. You allowed him to eat it so that maybe next time he'll believe you and listen to what you've said. Like i said, this is a very, very simple example. But the idea is that God allows things to happen so that we may become more dependent on Him (faith in Him), and listen to what He says is good for us (obey His commandments). I hope this helps. Read the Bible starting with the Gospel accounts in the New Testament. Decide for yourself what kind of being God is. I'm sure there will be many a criticism from the atheists on this one, but that's ok.

I do share your thoughts and agree with those strange thoughts . I feel that these thoughts come to us because we are brought up in a religious tradition and we tend to believe that there is some one somewhere responsible for all the wonders around us including "life". I for one believe that there is a cosmic power that is responsible for all that happens. The bad things happen because of human nature which is not much different from animal behavior. Some happenings are natural and others man made. I do love humanity and work towards creating a better society.I wish all human beings could live in harmony, love and peace.

It's called Free Will. God is real but bad things happen because sin is in the world. He can change things but He's a gentleman and won't force His way or will on us. Life is hard. It just is. The difference with Christians is we have Jesus to help us through the hard times. He doesn't take us out of the bad stuff but He walks with us along the way so we're never alone.

God isn't responsible for all the bad things that happen. WE are. We SIN and that's what causes bad to happen. And God DOES love us. That's why he sent his one and only son Jesus to die for our sins so that we can be forgiven and live eternally in heaven someday. And sometimes, God does allow bad things to happen to good people...he always has a reason and it's always for the good of us. Like, I heard about a church where a gunman entered it and killed 7 people. They were firm Christians and through this, many (in the U.S. and even around the world) came to know Jesus as their Savior and Lord. God works thru mysterious ways sometimes....but he is always in control!
