NO NO NO!

First, water has bacteria, minerals and other contaminants in it. These are not things you want touching your contacts.

Contacts are porous. This means that things can go through the tiny holes (osmosis). Minerals and contaminants can stretch the holes beyond repair and bacteria could eat through your eyes causing blindness.

Saline solution mimics the wetness of your eyes. This is why saline is used to store contacts and not water.

You will be better off sleeping in them for one night and blinking a lot when you wake up to cause tears.

Or just spend the $3 to get another case and some solution.

water won't hurt the contacts, but the y will hurt when you put them back in. Best get some cheap eye drops and put in your eyes and put on the contacts. The solution has glycol that acts as a lubricant, so your eyelids don't move them. water will evaporate too quickly and you will have dry eyes. It is not the end of the world, just get the right stuff and you will be ok. Oh when you get the right stuff soak them for several hours to remove any bad bacteria.

It can actually introduce harmful bacteria. You need to place them in a clean contact lens case filled with enough fresh multi-purpose solution to cover the lenses completely. Never reuse solution and never use rewetting drops or saline solution for storing lenses.

If you forgot your case ,go to pharmacy girl and buy the solution and case. wont be more than $10.

If possible try not to put them in because they may cause irritation. Try wearing glasses and if u dont have then buy a cheap pair.

If they are not the kind you can sleep in then something is better than nothing. However, if you can sleep in them I would suggest doing that before I soaked them in tap water.
