no, racism has to involve an idea of being superior, and being oppressive. There was an article I read earlier, a newspaper column that put it very nicely (way to sound really un-creditable)
That black people back in the day couldn't be racist to whites because they couldn't oppres the whites due to their low status in society. The hate was all there, but it didn't qualify for racism. I think it has to do with the connotation that is associated with racism more than the denotation of the word.

Is how you're brought up and taught about other race of people. The only moraly wrong thing I see with Interacial relationships there are people can't stand to see two races find happiness together than among their own race. Example look at the rainbow...they get along well together, would you said.

I think it may prove difficlt for some depending on their educational level ( COMMON SENSE) that is!!!! But it is really a personal choice to date whom ever you feel comfortable with and not because of what others may think or feel... If you date someone because you geniuingly care for them as a person and not because of what the typical stereo types are then to each it's on.. Really it doesn't matter what color another person is because if you don't date them for the right reason it never last anyway!! I mean before someone sits up and judges a interacial relationship tell them to research and tell us all how many white on white relationships there are that leave boken homes everyday and how many black on black relationships there are that leave broken homes!! If your and honest person and not a ignorant one then you will admit that there is doom in all races regardless of the ethnic background when it just isn't meant to be!!!!!

I agree that they can be difficult, but you have to realize something.
LIFE CAN BE DIFFICULT!
Are you just going to avoid difficult things even if they mean alot to you? Well becoming a doctor is difficult, so I'll just avoid it and work minimum wage the rest of my life...(get it?)
To me it's all about how important the person and the relationship is. Personally I've been in an interracial relationship and neither one of us gave it a second thought. No one else seemed to care either. Maybe that's just how I was raised though.

dude, it's your opinion - if you feel that way, there's nothing wrong with it - i can see it from your view though to why some of it won't work - i'm not saying interracial relationships in general but to some - and all comes back to the people and how they were raised. Sometimes it won't work because some strong cultures will clash. One is proud of theirs and the other one is the same...you need to have that common ground and open-mindedness, you know? Esp. with interracial asain couples - some can be hard because one side is very cultural and proud and one said is the same way - how are they gonna find a balance?
yet, there are some that make it work and i applaud them! :)

Any one who says that they are morally wrong are just silly in the head, and pitty them greatly. I agree that they are generally more difficult. But I don't think that means they should be avoided. If everyone bailed on things just because they where difficult, where would the world be today? lol, Not that the world is in that great of state, but that's another topic for another day perhaps. But anyways, screw the world and take pride in what and who matters to you most!

"Is it racist to believe this? Why or why not?"
Racist, no. Petulant and stupid, extremely.
"Interacial relationships... may work for another."
I/R relationships are about as difficult as relationships within the same race. They can pose some unique challenges, to be sure, but with a little effort from those involved, those challenges tend to be non-issues.

There is only one "race" the HUMAN race, and we all belong to it! So, there truly are no "interracial" relationships - just relationships between people with different appearances or backgrounds.
Like all relationships, some are great, some are awful and most are somewhere in between.
There are a lot of legitimate reasons to choose or reject a partner - color is NOT one of them!!!!

I think that statement could be racist, depending on the context/intent.
Interacial relationships aren't hard (unless one or both people are racist, or there is pressure from friends/family to break up...) I think that it is a level playing field, just because your from a different country doesn't change normal dating circumstances.

Well my ex is part Native and German mix. What initially attracted me to him was his dark olive skin and high cheekbones and beautiful long hair more than halfway past his back. I, myself am Italian, German, French and Irish mix. A beautiful boy came out of that relationship. He is a good looking kid and he is a beautiful person.
