Why do people say, God Bless You.
When you sneeze?

It's based on an old myth that the soul left the body during a sneeze. The blessing was to help assure its safe return.

Well it all started during the Bubonic Plague. People said that because if you got sick that usually meant that you would die very soon. So they would say, God Bless You, just in case.

Because your heart supposedly skips a beat then.You ask God to bless the person so they don't die from this heart skip...crazy huh? :-)

Apparently your heart stops for about a millisecond when you sneeze... its a superstition

I heard that it's because your heart skips a beat when you sneeze. who knows?

I am from Brazil. We say: "health"... I know, it is weird, but it's like we wish health to the person.

The word for health is: saude
